The Master of the Way of the Sword
A swordsman who lives in the backwoods of Bern. He was known and feared across the continent as the legendary Sword Saint. He retired to a life of seclusion in a village when he grew tired of fighting, but at his niece Fir’s request, offered to aid Roy and his allies. Even though he had quit fighting, his swordsmanship had not weakened at all.

Karel has a sword style of “harmony with the mind and wind,” which surpasses all other styles. One can get a glimpse of this by seeing support conversations with various Lycian Army swordsmen begging for Karel to teach them the way. He was born to a family that believed in the saying, “the sword is not something that can be taught,” and there was fighting between members. This was from his gruesome younger days where he would seek fellow members of the family and cut them down.
Now, he enlightens young swordsmen with his gentle eyes. It seems that he had finally regained that humanity he had once cast aside.
