As part of a new translation mini-series, I’ll be summarizing the child paralogues in Fire Emblem: Fates as I go through Linkmastr’s video gallery of them (as they would take quite a while to get myself)
This is Paralogue 5, and focuses on Sophie. It is unlocked by S ranking Cyrus/Silas (referred to as Cyrus from now on).
As usual, this is all done on my free time, and takes awhile. It can be a lot of work, but I do hope you enjoy! I am unemployed… so please consider donating if you like the work I do. : ) It certainly helps me keep going!
You can find data on the chapter itself here under “Paralogue 5” [P5] here.
Sophie is complimenting Aveil (her horse) on its performance and comments on the fact Aveil seems a little upset despite it being a fine day. Aveil suddenly knocks Sophie off of itself, and she is a little flustered Aveil did this despite being a horse that is held in such high regard by her father. She then realizes Aveil is gone, wondering where it went, fearing it may have left this secluded region. She runs after it, telling Aveil to wait. She eventually catches up to it, though they are now outside the secluded region they were in, and fears what her mother and father may say about it. She remarks on how she heard this world is dangerous and then witnesses a bandit attacking an innocent, with their leader Nacht warning them that this is their territory. Sophie is frightened by the situation, but says she cannot be hesitant, and must help those in need. She wants to be able to fight like her mother and father do. She calls for Aveil so they may fight together, but finds Aveil has gone missing again.
Meanwhile, Cyrus sees the civilians under attack. He asks everyone to prepare to move in. The battle begins.
During the battle, Cyrus and Sophie are shocked to run into each other. Cyrus asks why Sophie left the secluded realm she was in, and she is hesitant at first, but then mentions that Aveil had escaped the land into this place. Cyrus did not seem to hear her, as Sophie quickly changes the story, saying she heard screaming and so came riding atop Aveil to help the villagers in need. She says it is because she is a chivalrous knight like her father. Aveil starts acting up again, however, and she is a little shocked that it is acting this way even in front of her father. Cyrus takes it well, saying he understands, and that they shall fight as two knights side by side for now. Sophie is relieved and thankful, saying she will do her best to help the villagers in need.
After the battle, Sophie wonders why Aveil does not seem to listen to her. Cyrus tells her that Aveil has a noble yet moody personality, but will answer the call to those who are committed and hardworking, like how Sophie was today. Cyrus explains it is why he entrusted Aveil to Sophie ever since she was a child and first demanded she ride a horse like her father. He knew the horse would look after her when he couldn’t. He believes that today Sophie has finally matured to adulthood, and wishes for her to grow into an even more splendid human being, with aspirations that benefit those in need such as helping the people she helped today. Sophie wonders if Aveil’s lack of obedience means she is not ready yet, but Cyrus offers that she come fight alongside him outside of the secluded regions. He says from the battle today, he feels he can make her even stronger through training. Even though he does not want to get her involved in conflicts, he does want to let her fulfill her wish to fight with him and has so many things to teach her. Sophie agrees enthusiastically. Cyrus looks forward to the day where she will become a wonderful knight. Sophie is thankful, and asks Aveil if it heard that they will get to fight outside too, but then realizes Aveil is moving again, back toward the secluded realm. Sophie tries to tell it to stop, but it is futile. Cyrus wonders if she still has a long way to go toward adulthood after all, but is pleased they will be together anyway from now on. He promises that, along with Aveil, they will protect her. Sophie says she finally caught Aveil, and Cyrus is happy to see this, but then realizes Aveil is gnawing on Sophie’s head, as Sophie screams for it to let go, as her head will rip off if it keeps that up!
