FE14 – Paralogue 18: An Eccentric Parent and Child (Velour) Story Summary

This is Paralogue 18, and focuses on Velour. It is unlocked by S ranking Flannel. It is on the Nohr and Touma paths only.

As usual, this is all done on my free time, and takes awhile. It can be a lot of work, but I do hope you enjoy! I am unemployed… so please consider donating if you like the work I do. : ) It certainly helps me keep going!

You can find data on the chapter itself here under “Paralogue 18” [P18] here.

Velour notices someone dropped a cute ball of yarn. She sniffs it, and realizes it is of high quality too. She wonders if giving it to her papa will make him happy. Velour wonders what other treasures may be lying about in this place. Instead, she comes across the gate that leaves the secluded realm, remarking it is the first time she had seen it for herself. She sniffs it, recognizing the scent…!

Elsewhere, Flannel is speaking with Suzukaze, saying that the gate to the secluded realm lies just ahead in the woods, and that is where his daughter Velour is. Suzukaze wonders how she looks, asking if she has a tail, too. Flannel proudly says she does, of course, being one of the wolf family like him, –though he wonders if he excessively dotes over her at times. Suzukaze suddenly notices something, and a phantom soldier appears. Suzukaze wonders how the enemies got here, and tells Flannel to prepare for battle, who sighs, figuring it can’t be helped, then cheers up, saying they’ll eliminate everyone before meeting Velour, then.

At the start of the battle, Flannel spots a fellow Garu in the distance on a mountain, thinking it may be Velour, but then says she doesn’t know the way in leaving the secluded realm, so isn’t quite sure who it could be.

During the battle, Velour descends from the mountain, entering the battlefield, telling her papa she has arrived. Flannel is surprised that he was right initially thinking it was Velour. He then asks what she’s doing here, as Velour explains how she found some treasures, then eventually found the gate that leaves the secluded realm. She detected her father’s wonderful scent and wished to meet him. She then swoons over her father who she has not met in so long, and the father she loves so much. Flannel says he’s happy to see her, but that now is no time to wag her tail. Velour agrees, saying she will help in the fight and show her father the skills she has learned while in the secluded realm.

After the battle, Velour is happy they were able to eliminate the enemy and thankful her papa had come to visit her. Flannel tries to play it off with no problem, but Velour is able to tell how he really feels by looking at his tail. He insists he is not that delighted, and that he is busy so she should return to the secluded realm from whence she came. After some silence, Velour says she will not return to the secluded realm, and that she will travel with her papa instead. Flannel says to stop saying such childish things, as Velour notices his tail wagging again. He blushes out of embarrassment, as Velour then presents the ball of yarn she found earlier. Flannel is impressed and says it is even his favorite sort, He then admits he had been wanting to come to her for some time now, but did not want the opportunity to become stale, either. Velour understands, calling her father wonderful, as Flannel asks her to come along with him. She is overjoyed hearing this, showering her father with praise as she usually does, saying they will never be separated again. He mentions she can’t be dependent on her parents forever, but that it is an issue to address another time. He welcomes Velour aboard, who is thankful for her inclusion.
