How Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final became Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse

This is a brief post for those interested in the Shin Megami Tensei series. ATLUS USA has finally announced a summer release for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final for North America.

The title has been changed to Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, however. Normally, companies don’t really bother to explain name changes, or many changes at all.

But, Atlus did for this! And made a nice article on it here.

I post it here today because it shows just how there is a process to things like this, often hidden behind closed doors. I highly encourage anyone interested in localization to read it. : )

  1. That was actually a really nice article. I like the SMT series myself (Even though I hate the fanbase with a burning passion…) and I can’t wait for this game to come out in the states.
