This post is part of my ongoing translations of the Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Memorial Book: Tellius Recollection (Vol 1).
These are sketches for battle animations that appear in the game. I had to darken the lines to make them more visible, but some places being low quality (toward the middle) could not be helped with the way the book was scanned.
You can find every translation I’ve done on this book so far on the compilation post here!
Original scans/Japanese are not posted, but are available by request.
As you can imagine, the process of doing all this (scanning, editing, translating, etc) takes a lot of free time, and I currently lack a source of income, so…

From these rough design documents, we can see the general idea for the motions involved in different units’ battle animations (mainly critical hits). We selected 8 of 28 of these never-before-seen sketches. Some characters such as Ike (Ranger/Lord) are not included as the documents simply don’t exist — they used motion photography rather than sketches like these.
Documents that depict Daein’s King Ashnard executing a critical attack. He swings the powerful, evil weapon Gurgurant to bring about pure destruction.
An archer executing a critical attack. Much like Rolf of the Greil Mercenaries.
Depictions of the Black Knight executing a critical attack. A general holds the occult skill “Luna” which reduces enemy defense by half. This, combined with the power of the divine sword Alondite, brought plenty of headaches and left an unforgettable scar on players who suffered it.
Those of the various mounted knight classes performing a critical attack. Lances, swords, axes, and bows. Their lower bodies remain in a fixed position due to being on horseback. Their upper bodies, however, can move freely to compensate.
