This post is part of my ongoing translations of the Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Memorial Book: Tellius Recollection (Vol 1).
These are sketches for battle animations that appear in the game. I had to darken the lines to make them more visible, but some places being low quality (toward the middle) could not be helped with the way the book was scanned.
You can find every translation I’ve done on this book so far on the compilation post here!
Original scans/Japanese are not posted, but are available by request.
As you can imagine, the process of doing all this (scanning, editing, translating, etc) takes a lot of free time, and I currently lack a source of income, so…
Please consider donating! It helps fund future projects!
Enjoy!
[14][15][16] Warriors and berserkers executing their critical and occult attacks. Compared to the various types of knights on the previous page, these classes are drawn with larger builds. They make more exaggerated gestures too, due to being able to use their lower body.
[17][18][19] Documents that show myrmidons performing a critical attack. Wielding swords, they make use of centrifugal force to boost their offensive power. [20] Swordmasters performing a critical hit. The way they move their swords is what mainly differentiates them from myrmidons, relying on single swipes.
[21][22] Thieves performing a critical hit. Their weapon’s strike range is rather short, so their motions must reflect their need to be up close to an enemy.
[23][24] The assassin’s occult skill “Lethality” is impressively depicted.
[25] A mage performing a critical attack. The finishing pose is the same shown by Soren in the opening movie. [26][27][28] A sage’s critical attack and occult skill which reduces enemy resistance by half: “Flare.”
Notes: The small comments are too hard to read, even with a magnifying glass, some are too hard to make out. To avoid inconsistencies and awkward partial translations, I decided not to translate them at all.
