This post is part of my ongoing translations of the Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn Memorial Book: Tellius Recollection (Vol 2).

This post features the Black Knight.  His Path of Radiance profile can be seen here.

You can find every translation I’ve done on this book so far on the compilation post here!

Species:     Beorc
Class:       Black Knight
Affinity:    Dark
Origin:      Daein

The Black Knight who served as King Ashnard’s confidant during the Mad King’s War. He was also feared as one of Daein’s “Four Riders” along with Bryce, Bertram, and Petrine.
Fitting to his title, he is completely encased in jet-black armor. His armor was blessed by the goddess herself, which made him impervious to any attack –but with one exception. The holy sword Ragnell, an equivalent to his own sword, Alondite, was able to pierce his armor. As such, only Ike was in the unique position of being able to stand up to him.
Boasting both incredible sword skills and an uncanny ability to warp over large distances instantly, he hindered the Crimean Liberation Army time and time again. He was eventually defeated in a duel to the death at Nados Castle in Crimea, which collapsed atop him. His remains were never found.
In the post-Ashnard era of Daein, the Black Knight had become nothing more than a legend. But –that legend had seemingly come back to life. He emerged from the darkness of history in order to rescue the “Silver-Haired Maiden.”
