FE RD: Izuka Character Profile (P. 55) Translation

Advertisements

This post is part of my ongoing translations of the Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn Memorial Book: Tellius Recollection (Vol 2).

This post features Izuka, a returning character from Path of Radiance. He lacks an FE9 profile, however.

You can find every translation I’ve done on this book so far on the compilation post here!

Enjoy!

As you can imagine, the process of doing all this (scanning, editing, translating, etc) takes a lot of time…so if feeling generous, than please consider donating! It helps fund future projects. : )

Species:     Beorc
Class:       Summoner
Affinity:    Thunder
Origin:      Daein
Approx. Age: 63

A dubious Summoner who discovered Pelleas, son of Daein’s former King Ashnard, on the city streets, and declared him the successor of the throne and symbol of Daein’s restoration.
He has complete confidence in his own wisdom and is condescending to those around him. He also has a short temper and gets angry when things do not go his way. Basically, he is a very difficult person to deal with.
During the Mad King’s War, he performed inhumane experiments on the laguz under the former King Ashnard. Though Pelleas is technically his boss, they do not really share a master-servant relationship. Izuka forms plans regardless of what Pelleas or the Daein Liberation Army thinks, which often conflicts with Micaiah and her crew.
As the war grew more violent, it slowly became more evident that his true loyalties were neither to Pelleas nor Almedha. He was in fact a spy from the Begnion senate, and all his conduct was to the benefit of Begnion rather than Daein.
Begnion had promised to absolve him of his crimes involving his harmful drugs which he tested on human subjects. As such, he installed Pelleas as a puppet on Daein’s throne by claiming him to be Ashnard’s orphan. Pelleas was weak, timid, and ignorant in the ways of war and politics, which made him a perfect fit for the role. To add to his crimes, Izuka was also responsible for brainwashing Prince Renning of Crimea with his drugs three years ago during the Mad King’s War. Bastian and Geoffrey were angered when this information came to light, and swore to put an end to Izuka’s mad ways.
Bastian captured Izuka and held him for interrogation in Castle Fayre, but he managed to escape. He confronted Elincia and Tibarn afterward, with a field of Tibarn’s fellow countrymen under the influence of the same drug that created the Feral Ones. Enraged, Tibarn swore that Izuka’s final moments would be full of pain and misery as payment for his wicked deeds.
