Super Mario Odyssey: Classic Outfit Description [JPN vs ENG]

Today’s post is a small one, and looks into a simple outfit description (Classic Outfit) in Super Mario Odyssey. It’s part of an ongoing series of comparison from the game both by request and personal curiosity.

Japanese Lit. Translation Official Localization
ノスタルジーを味わえる 定番の帽子

シンプルな色合いが 今も愛される一品

The standard hat with a dash of nostalgia.

This outfit with simple colors is still loved to this day.

For the truly nostalgic, it doesn’t get any more classic than this.

This outfit is still loved by longtime fans. DK has never been a fan, though.

Like previous posts have shown, localization through this game ups the straightforward Japanese description with colorful flair.

You can see, for instance, the DK line is completely added in the localization alone. A fun line and stab at the history between DK and Mario for the series’ fans to enjoy. The meanings from the original description are still adhered to, such as the “nostalgic” aspect and the “still loved to this day.”

That’s that!

I will continue to look at fun differences between the versions of sorts of games when I get time!
