This post is part of my ongoing translations of the Fire Emblem Echoes Shadows of Valentia Memorial Book: Valentia Accordion project.
Please note these posts may contain spoilers for those who have not completed the game.
Today’s post features Clive and Clair. Their profiles were translated for us by @odonasty! I edited and made corrections on a few areas as needed but it was mostly them. : )
You can find every scan/translation I’ve done on this book so far on the compilation post.
Enjoy!

Commander of the Knights of Zofia and Clair’s older brother. His famed skill as a knight of Zofia is known as far as the distant land of Rigel. Despite the considerable difference in the size of their military forces, he is still able to defeat General Desaix’s rebel army in a show of skill. Afterwards, he forms the Deliverance. As both its leader and a noble, he recruits worthy people to battle –even those who might be called commoners. Intending to break the stalemate, he offers his position to the great hero Mycen’s grandson Alm, with Clive himself becoming his advisor. He is briefly troubled by Fernand’s reprimands, but, sensing Alm’s strong will, he decides to cooperate with Alm as a comrade in liberating Valentia. He and Mathilda are lovers, and he worships her like a goddess; his passion for her is enough to astonish and exasperate those around him.

A Pegasus Knight and part of the Knights of Zofia. Clive’s younger sister. Though Fernand (who lost his mother earlier on) envies Clair’s relation to his childhood friend Clive, Clive insists that she’s “Fernand’s little sister” as well. Clair was said to be willful and hard to handle from a young age –perhaps because she was raised around two “older brothers.” Her manner of speaking originates from her aristocratic bloodline and can make her appear arrogant. But, in truth, she means well, and her real character is that of someone who does not discriminate by station or anything else. When Alm rescued her from Desaix’s clutches in a southern fortress, she took a liking to him and opposed Fernand who looked down on commoners.
She adores Clive as an older brother, and although she recognizes Mathilda as his sweetheart, she also harbors a little bit of resentment towards her.
