Today’s Pokemon is Mawile –again! I translated one of the cards from a newer set a few days ago, so here is a slightly older one.

Japanese Pokémon cards translated to English. I first scan or find the Japanese card online. I then attempt to clean it up using the resources on hand –such as similar textures on the same page. I then do the translation and insert the translated text in the proper fonts (Gill Sans and Gill Sans Condensed).
There are limitations that an official translator would not run into, such as the “clean up” process. There would already be a base template for the card that one really just has to insert text upon, and so the quality would not drop. The current method may be low quality as it is completely dependent on the quality of the original source. Watermarks and low resolution sometimes cannot be helped.
On a professional level, the clean card and proper programs would be much easier to work with, and would take nowhere near as long. These serve as improvised examples regardless.
Pokemon Card: Mawile

Notes:
-The official Localization named the second move (Circle Head) to “Big Ol’Bite” to reference what the move does rather than what it refers to. The “Circle Head” refers to the circle on the scary head attached to the Mawile (which has the yellow circle) –implying the bite. This would be hard to explain on the card itself given the room, so their decision was more friendly to younger audiences.

Pokemon Card: Roller Skates

Pokemon Card: Lysandre
Today is a simple Trainer Card, specifically the trainer Lysandre (フラダリ) from the XY Wild Blaze set. The original Japanese card is above/first, my edit/translation is below as usual.

-I used the original Japanese name for “Flare Drive,” but “Devastating Wind” was the best translation for the first one that lined up with the official translation.

-The second card has a slightly different fire template, likely due to scan quality of the first one.
