FE7 Localization: Was Hector and Eliwood’s A Support Mistranslated? Who cut their hand? [JPN vs ENG]

Today’s post comes from a thread on reddit which concerns Hector and Eliwood’s A support conversation. u/Dragoryu3000 posed a question:

Hold up, is Eliwood and Hector’s A-Support majorly mistranslated?

They pinged me in a thread and I looked into it. The issue revolves primarily around Erik Laus and vague wording in the translation being potentially misleading as to what occurred. You can read their thoughts and the rest of the thread in-depth on the thread before reading this post if you want to get a better idea of the issue, but I’ll try my best to explain it as we go along, too.

So let’s take a look!

FE6 and FE7 (Elibe Games) “Choose Your Legends” Poll Results Analysis

Nintendo conducted a poll for Fire Emblem Heroes urging fans to pick a favorite character of theirs that they would love to see featured. Each fan could vote once a day for 13 days for almost any character from any of the main Fire Emblem series of games.

This is part of a miniseries I am doing on analyzing the vast amount of poll data available to us and what it means for the fandom and their favorites regarding characters.

Thanks to the tireless work of Elieson over on serenesforest.net, we can take a look at the break downs by game!

Today we will focus on FE6 (Binding Blade) and FE7 (Blazing Blade). The latter is the first Fire Emblem game that came to the west, and indeed it shows! Combined they form the Elibe games.

There are some general things to keep in mind before we get started, however.

Eliwood 25th Anniversary Artwork (Cleaned)

Fire-Emblem-25th-Anniversary

Today is not exactly a translation, but it does have to do with the Fire Emblem 25th Anniversary book. The book features five special illustrations that have Marth, Sigurd, Eliwood, Ike, and Lucina, each drawn by the same character artists in charge of their respective games.

You may view them on the book’s compilation post here, but I wanted to make individual pages for each one, too.

So, today, I provide Sachiko Wada (character designer in Blazing Sword)’s artwork of Eliwood. I went out of my way to clean it up for people who wanted the artwork. Nostalgic!

As you can imagine, the process of doing this all took a lot of time, so if you like what I did, then…

Please donate!

Enjoy!

Fire Emblem 64: Rare Dialogue Document Translation + Analysis

ephraimandrei

From the Making of Fire Emblem: 25 Years of Development Secrets book comes a script from the canceled Fire Emblem 64. It is the only dialogue example provided for the game. For some more trivia about this game, I made a post about some design documents from it here.

I translated it in full since it contains some interesting tidbits for FE fans, such as the names Eliwood and Ephraim just to name a few! Also, it reveals who the two characters in the only screenshot released for the game are.

You can find much more from this book on the compilation post here.

Enjoy!

Fire Emblem 6/7: Artbook Translations (All)

UPDATE: Now you can download them all as one RAR file here.

UPDATE:

Please note, as one of my older translations, this book is very literally translated. Someday I hope to give it a more professional run through.

I am considering acquiring another copy of this book to unbind and scan in high quality as well as iron out the translations. If interested in funding this project, please donate above and add a note!

Original Post:

This is every single profile from Fire Emblem 6 (Sword of Seals) and Fire Emblem 7 (Blazing Sword) translated on this website and put in one place!

I used the names that were on the pages, even if they had official localized names in FE7 for FE6, with a few exceptions. However, from FE7 onward I used the officially localized names.

56 K Warning for a lot of images ahead! All of the scans for FE6 are from serenesforest.net. Some of the FE7 ones are too, but I scanned the ones they were missing. All were edited/translated by me. Their original Japanese transcripts are found on their original pages.

These are in order. Enjoy this milestone!

Fire Emblem 7: Artbook Translations (All)

fire_emblem_gba_box_art

Yet another milestone! This is every single profile from Fire Emblem 7 (Blazing Sword) translated on this website. I did some out of order before, so their format is slightly different. But this is every single character in the FE7 Character Book. It is only actually the second half of book, the previous half was done on this site earlier.

I used the localized names best I could.

56 K Warning for a lot of images ahead! Some of these scans were provided by serenesforest.net, but I scanned most of them myself.  Their original transcripts are found on their original pages.

These are in order. Enjoy this milestone!
