Fates released! + Fire Emblem If 4Koma Kings Announced for Feb. 25th

Fire Emblem Fates released today in North America. I do hope they make an announcement for my friends in Europe soon… I am compiling things to compare over on serenesforest.net, and will soon start posting them rather regularly.

In other news, the game is also receiving a 4Koma book in Japan, titled: Fire Emblem If 4Koma Kings Sound familiar? That’s because there was a Fire Emblem Awakening 4Koma Kings that I translated in its entirety. It releases on February 25th, just a few days away!

This will differ slightly from the Fire Emblem if 4Koma Character Book as it will likely focus on random situations rather than per character.

I have already pre-ordered the book with the intention to translate the entire thing. This will make my third 4Koma project, so I do hope you look forward to it!

I do all the scanning/editing/translation by myself, and for free. But I do appreciate any and all donations people make to help keep the project going! If you’re feeling up to donating, and this link doesn’t work, then please click the button right over there on the right side of the page! : )

Contents of the Fire Emblem 25th Anniversary Book (Translation + Review)

Fire-Emblem-25th-Anniversary

To give people (and potential importers) a better idea what exactly is in the 351 page Making of Fire Emblem: 25 Years of Development Secrets book, I decided the easiest way to cover that would be to simply translate the Table of Contents and write a personal commentary on it too. See the contents first, and my brief review after that. You can also scroll down to the bottom for a summary.

All the information I have translated thus far can be seen on my compilation post.

As you can imagine, the process of doing all this took a lot of my free time, and I am unemployed…so if you like what I did, then…

Please donate! It helps fund future projects!

Enjoy!

Fire Emblem 25th Anniversary Book on sale today!

FE25thCover

Fire Emblem’s 25th Anniversary book went on sale today in Japan. I bought it with money I  received from donations (thanks to all who donated!) and it should arrive on December 1st or 2nd. You can buy the book yourself here. Amazon Japan offers relatively cheap international shipping, so check if it can be delivered to you if interested!

I hope to translate any parts I find interesting from the book itself. If you have requests I may take those up too!

Please feel free to donate for that coming project! It will really help me out!

For those who want to know what the amazon description says, see below where I provide the same translation I made on an older post on the matter.

UPDATE: More reviews are in, some not as positive as others, so I gave a few more to give a spectrum of opinions. Please remember these are just reviews to give you an idea of what it’s like. I may provide my own review later.

5/5 (4 of 24 found helpful)

“A Must-Have for Series’ Fans:

Full of design documents and interviews, the largest amount that have been published to date. The large amount of information on the production cycle and inside story behind the games makes this an essential part of any fan’s collection.”

2/5 (of which 5 of 5 found helpful):

“A book for those who like Awakening and Fates, but not so much for the full 25 years”

Summary: “The book seems to focus on the two more recent installments over the rest of the series, so was a bit of a let down”

3/5 (of which 15 of 18 found helpful):

“A little disappointed”

Summary: A worthwhile read, but one may be let down by what the cover advertises versus what they actually get. Some good things are interviews with the development staff (such as the director), and other interesting tidbits such as info on map design and music composition.

However, 70-80% is Awakening and Fates information, leaving long-time series’ fans a little iffy. Also it lacks in illustrations, and the unused assets mostly pertain to Awakening and Fates as expected.

Would have preferred to see more of the other series’ works and information regarding them.”

Fire Emblem Fates 4-koma shipped! Will begin translation project as soon as it arrives.

Amazon.co.jp has shipped my copy of the Fire Emblem Fates 4-koma/Yonkoma (4 panel comic anthology). What that means for this site is I will begin posting translations everyday for that just like I did for the entire Fire Emblem Awakening: Yonkoma Kings.

This was bought on kind donation money! So thank you very much. I hope to receive more donations during this project too, it certainly is motivational (but certainly not required, of course!)

Fire Emblem Fates 4-koma coming September 25th, hope to translate!

Amazon.co.jp has listed a 4-koma/Yonkoma (4 panel comic anthology) for September 25th. What that means for this site is you may begin seeing me post translations for that just like I did for the entire Fire Emblem Awakening: Yonkoma Kings.

In addition to that is the standard manga anthology, which I am not sure if I will translate, but that releases at the end of this month on August 31st. I hope to use donation money to get the 4-koma to bring the translations to you all : )

It will also make for great practice!

Official Fire Emblem Fates Guide to be released July 15th in Japan

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let the curious know that amazon.co.jp has listed the Complete Fire Emblem Fates Strategy Guide for release on July 15th for 1,944 Yen (~16 USD). You can import these for just 10 or so US dollars and they deliver rather fast. I am importing one myself to iron out recruitment methods as well as to make more in depth chapter data, and eventually a guide on gameFAQs with this handy source!

It says it includes everything you need to know about the Invisible Kingdom path as well as My Castle, among other things!

Fire Emblem Fates – Importer’s Source – Chapter Data [COMPLETE]

FEIFLogo

In addition to translating the menus and characters for Fire Emblem Fates importers who do not read Japanese, I’m also aiming to translate/list chapter data as I go through the game. Please point this out to anybody who may find it useful!

CURRENT AS OF 4/11/16. All of Revelation (Touma), Conquest (Nohr), and Birthright (Hoshido) complete, including Paralogues. All screen shots for every non Paralogue map added. Chapter summaries on each path can also be found on my blog, simply search for “*Path Name*” + “Summary” in the search box! Chapter names have English and Japanese titles. Characters all now have English / Japanese names.

High quality screenshots were provided to me by Maurice, who will be streaming the Nohr path. Please check out his youtube account here! Some of the first Hoshido maps were provided by another user named Linkmastr, who has also done a Youtube playthrough of the game. Their channel is here!

In addition to translating the menus for Fire Emblem Fates importers who do not read Japanese, I’m also aiming to translate the characters as they appear. Please point this out to anybody who may find it useful!

CURRENT AS OF 02/13/16. All character names and descriptions are now here. All portraits that were available have been added too. All recruitment methods are here for Hoshido/Nohr, adding Touma and full profiles. Note they are listed with Japanese names, and will update for English ones later on. Fire Emblem Fates – Importer’s Source – Menus (ALL) [ONGOING]

FEIFLogo

I’ve decided to translate the menus for Fire Emblem: Fates for importers who do not read Japanese, or perhaps want to see a translated screen for convenience anyway. Please point this out to anybody who may find it useful!

CURRENT AS OF 7/1/15. Updates are ongoing as I progress! Also, I am helping out on a mass project is underway to attach the translations to the game itself! Read more on that here.

Some shots may be from the Treehouse Live stream that showed off some of the menus in English. They will be noted. If you have screenshots of menus that I did not cover to contribute, please send them my way!

I have gotten a head start thanks to screen shots in magazines, so while I will individually post menu translations in their own posts, this will serve as the overall hub to each and every one of them for your convenience. I hope to get help in getting someone with a 3DS capture card to give high quality menus later on.

Look forward to separate posts for character profiles and skills!

High quality screen shots will be provided to me by Maurice, who will be streaming the Nohr path first. Please check out his youtube account here!
