FE “Choose Your Legends” Full List of Results + Brief Analysis

feheroescharacters

Nintendo conducted a poll for Fire Emblem Heroes urging fans to pick a favorite character of theirs that they would love to see featured. Each fan could vote once a day for 13 days for almost any character from any of the main Fire Emblem series of games.

The competition had since ended, and results posted. Nintendo reported an overall outcome of 1.2 million votes. As you can imagine the selection was quite vast!

I previously analyzed the results regarding the top 20 of both genders. But thanks to the tireless work of Elieson over on serenesforest.net, I now have data that is broken down by game to see how characters stacked up against others from their own game.

So throughout the week I will be looking at the games in series order. For today, I present to you a massive table with general statistics, some data on how each game scored, followed by split gender votes.

Tomorrow we will enter the Archanea and look at the data for the games specifically.

There are some things to keep in mind before we get started, however.

  • This was a worldwide contest from all territories on all the games. All votes were included to one ballot. This is useful to know when it comes to character popularity.
  • The data was compiled from the full list of results here A lot of effort was put into compiling the data into a spreadsheet format, so a big thanks to Elieson!
  • Some characters were split if they appeared in multiple games (i.e. Marth in FE11 and 12 are two different votes. This is a point worth noting, as we will see.
  • Male characters and female characters were polled from the same limited set of 13. This means if someone voted for a favorite male character one day, they did not get to vote a female character the same day. This is worth noting because male/female characters are not in competition with each other. So, their voter base could only vote for a character in one gender or the other, meaning there may have been more votes for female characters overall than male, even if the voter had a male they would have preferred too. There is potential to skew the results here, as would have been solved with two polls (one for each gender).
  • Each individual was able to vote multiple times. One person could vote 13 times over the event period (and this assumes from one device)! As such, do not treat the total amount of votes as total amount of people who voted. Those are two very different things!
  • Nintendo had released midterm results on current poll standings. I consider this an important aspect in determining the final outcome to overall popularity, as I will address if relevant to the game.

Warning: The list is massive. I suggest using Ctrl + F to search for the character of your choosing to see where they ended up!

Fire Emblem: Famitsu FE Series Reader Poll Translated (June 2015)

fire-emblem-lords

Last year (2015), Famitsu conducted a poll from June 11th through the 15th. In celebration of the 25th Anniversary for Fire Emblem, they polled readers on various questions about the series as a whole.

I translated the first two pages earlier on this post here. They are specifically about characters. These last two pages deal with favorite game, class, weapon, etc. A lot of fun insight from fans back in June 2015.

The raw scans are available upon request. I hope to apply these translations onto the page eventually (which is when I will provide them too)!

Note that this was conducted before Famitsu’s Fire Emblem Fates poll, which can be viewed here.

I purchased the Famitsu volume that included this poll with money received from your kind donations. : ) This is all done on my free time, and takes awhile. It can be a lot of work, but I do hope you enjoy! I am unemployed… so please consider donating by clicking on the “donate” button found on the right side of the page!

Fire Emblem: Famitsu Overall Favorite Character Poll Translated (June 2015)

fire-emblem-lords

Last year (2015), Famitsu conducted a poll from June 11th through the 15th. In celebration of the 25th Anniversary for Fire Emblem, they polled readers on various questions about the series as a whole.

UPDATE: Part 2 (page 3 and 4) are up! They deal with fans’ favorite games, class, etc. See it here!

There are four pages of results, two of which I translate today. The other two will be up later! Note for these translations I only translated the results and player opinions, as the rest was general information about the characters/games which fans would already know. All raw pages will be put up after I finish the last two pages! But some lower res scans of the first two pages can be found here and here.

This was conducted before their Fire Emblem Fates poll, which can be viewed here. I do not think Fates characters were included in this poll, as the game was near release.
