Roy was originally named Ike – Fire Emblem 25th Anniversary Translation

My Fire Emblem 25th Anniversary Book arrived a few days ago, and I have been in the process of reading it and scanning anything interesting. So today’s point of interest is during Roy’s design sketches (currently be cleaned and hopefully ready to be uploaded later), there is a little blurb that states that Roy’s original name during early planning stages was in fact Ike!

I am not sure if this was known to the FE fanbase already, but regardless that’s some cool trivia. I provide the sketch and blurb (translated) below.

I will have a review for the book up later if you are thinking about buying it. Unfortunately it does not have too much on most of the series, and focuses mainly on Awakening and Fates. Still, there are tidbits from the rest here and there, which I am more interested in translating.

All scanning, editing, translating, and uploading is done on my free time and is rather time consuming. It is certainly a lot of work, and I am unemployed… so please consider donating if you like the work I do. Any amount (no matter how small) is much appreciated and helps me keep going on a daily basis. I hope you enjoy the end results of my work!

(This is a cut out from the original page which I am still translating. See the text below):
