FE RD: Nolan Character Profile (P. 46) Translation

This post is part of my ongoing translations of the Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn Memorial Book: Tellius Recollection (Vol 2).

This post features Nolan. The “notes” were partially translated by AstroknighticalFeats of serenesforest.net. I edited them and fixed any translation errors, as well as the profile information.

You can find every translation I’ve done on this book so far on the compilation post here!

As you can imagine, the process of doing all this (scanning, editing, translating, etc) takes a lot of time, and I am unemployed…so if you like what I did, then…

A fighter who serves as the leader of the chivalrous band of thieves known as the “Dawn Brigade”.
He is an older man and leader who has seen life’s hills and valleys, but has a genteel demeanor and does not act superior to the others. While the jokes that come with being an older man bother him, he nonetheless is a reliable ally that offers sage advice to the younger members of the group.
In contrast to his appearance and profession as a warrior, his hobby is reading, and can often be seen lost in a book while not in battle. It should be no surprise that Nolan was a successful merchant in his youth. But, he was betrayed by a trusted co-owner who bankrupted the business in one night, leaving Nolan to be a reclusive street rat. During the Mad King’s War, Nolan displayed neither interest nor concern as to how it would play out. It was not until the Begnion Occupation Army’s abuse of his fellow citizens and motherland that his sense of duty was stirred up enough to take a stand.
Initially Nolan interfered with the Begnion forces alone, but after helping Edward and Leonardo escape from Begnion hunters, they joined forces. Rumors of their rebellious activities caught the ears of Sothe and Micaiah, who then contacted and joined them too. It was then they decided it would be a good idea to make a name befitting of their cause. When the five were in discussion in darkened back alleyway, the dazzling shimmers of dawn broke through the cracks of the bricks that morning –and thus, the “Dawn Brigade” was born.
